Welcome to the few things that have actually spent the time putting down as songs. Something I wish I had spent a lot more time doing. These also span 30 years. A bit longer actually, 36 years maybe.
Covers a lot of styles, but it's all, like everything else, kind of heavy and dark. I'm not a fan of music that's in a major key, which, for all intents and purposes, means happy. I like mournful, soulful, dark, industrial, electronic, EDM, glitch, dubstep, trip-hop, downtempo, and some stuff from a number of other genres as well.
But what I create, not sure what any of it is genre-wise. Probably a bit dark industrial sometimes, sometimes a little glitchy and trip-hoppy, sometimes kind of a strange electronic dirge. But I think I have a curious knack for audio as well. So, kick back, take a listen, see what you think.
At the end is also a bit of a breakdown of a new audio paradigm that I developed for The Chaos System, the unbelievable sound system that I have, and a new way to do live digital audio production. It's a pretty thorough breakdown of what I think is a revolutionary approach at being able to do live stage mixing, recording, effects, and audio routing.
All of my original songs. Quite an interesting collection. Back in the day when there only was destructive audio editing, unless you had some very expensive gear, for some of them.
So, these songs were put together in some different ways.
The songs are interesting. They're personal, depending. But these ones are for sure. Most of them anyway. So check them out. See what you think.

I'm putting these songs here with lyrics. I'm not entirely comfortable with the exposure. Some of them represent a time where, like with my artwork, I poured an energy into the creation of something, partially in order to hopefully increase the probability of the outcome I wanted. Reading some of the expressions I had can feel a little bit icky. But I don't want to hide from the different states that I existed in and what ultimately made me what I am now.
This is definitely one of the ones that I have a really hard time relating to in the same way as I did at the time. I was still new to Arizona. And this person that this was written about was someone I was having a very bizarre relationship with. There were many very interesting and exploratory aspects of it. Strange relationship paradigms, strange social events involving extra relationship activities. In a sense, I had and have very little in the feelings of or realms of something like jealousy. It's not a concept that makes a lot of sense to me. Unlike compersion, which makes a lot of sense to me. Plus, I kind of raised myself on the more controversial books by Robert Heinlein. And I think I very much conditioned my brain to perceive the nature of relationships very differently.
In this case, specifically, this was kind of like trying to cast a magic spell to attract the person. Did it work? Yeah, actually, it did for a time. And honestly, it's not as though at that point I thought it was a bad thing. But life changes, and you might end up realizing that the person that you're with is far more clinically insane than you ever realized, and you just have to cut that shit off.

[whisper]
i am the dreamer - you are the dream
misaligned soulmates- torn apart at the seams
where are you my dear
what do you fear
are you keeping your eyes open
in your soul am i still near
[whisper]
what is it that you don't understand
i'm here to stay
you're my desire
you cannot put out this fire
where are you my goddess
do you miss the pain
do you feel what's missing
have you been tamed
[whisper]
why won't you see
we are divine
we are cosmic
we are the ultimate in desire
all i ever offered
is everything that you desired
no matter what comes of this
it will not put out the fire
This is a strange one. I was still with the person in the previous song, and they were involving themselves with somebody else while we were still living together. Another boundary-stretching exercise that eventually had me moving out and actually writing the previous song in order to come back. This was kind of a call out to the person that she was attempting to connect with, a dark take on what it is that I thought they were interfering with.
I've never even told anybody this one, so it's kind of a trip to put this down. Songs are personal in a very different way than images or videos ever can be. Their connection to your emotional state is so much more raw and visceral, and this is an expression of somebody who, while inherently not interested in harming others, was certainly feeling some pretty intense urges.
I literally just listened to this song again, and it brought back the reason why I felt compelled to get this out of myself. If I'm in a relationship with somebody and we have open boundaries, and we're not keeping ourselves from each other and allowing somebody else's possessiveness or jealousy to distort the meaning of the relationship we have, then I don't have any problem whatsoever. What so offended me about this situation was that this person started to become very overtly controlling and was instructing "what's-her-face" to start excluding me out of her life. Just completely stepping on everything. However weird, however fragile, however whatever it was. That, to me, felt like crossing a major line and using your influence to fuck up another person's relationship unnecessarily because you can't understand what it means to have the relationship that they have.
The emotions in these songs are so radical. I feel like I live through them again every time I hear them.

take a peek my little boy
my shadow, my little toy
time comes soon to feel my truth
fantasies wasted of your youth
decry the illusions seen in the now
believe in a future without a how
told over an awareness left
behind in solitude a battle reft
are you prepared for the battles naught
the lonely heart which has come and fought
i wish you well to seek a dream
this point of delusion creates a seam
you travel with notions of desire
this sick dream without a fire
infantile are the notions seen
you're not welcome to this dream
I love this one. I always have. I feel like it's kind of a dark industrial electronica something. It's epic sounding. It's heavy. It's dark. These were lyrics I came up with in my 20's while working at Subway as a sandwich artist. I remember writing them down near closing some point.
Then after moving to Arizona in the aughts, and having a computer with GarageBand, this is one of the first ones that I really figured out how to do this kind of music creation with, with the newer software that worked way better than the stuff back in the 90s.
It is playing with absurd themes that are dark and weird and twisted and inverted, and yet I don't think it's false. I think it's pointing out brutal truth and harsh perspectives. It does what it needs to do, and it kicks ass.

i am just a little boy
playing with my little toys
would you like to come and play with me
i am just a parasite
draining you of all your life
this disease that makes you slowly bleed
i am just a single cell
dwelling in this living hell
one more piece to bring it all down to its knees
heaven below me - above me hell
the death i seek in the life you dwell
keeping to our truths, and living in a lie...
This one is really dark and really intense. It feels like a dirge, a funeral droll. It's got three chords that just drag through, like a Sabbath song, but in dark industrial instead. The vocals are intense and I was still getting used to putting my voice to a song. In this one, it was more about the emotional expression than it was about anything clean. If you actually listen to the original vocal tracks, you would probably cringe. But that's not really the point with this one. It's more the intense expression, and it works. Even the way that I kind of harmonize later on in there with one of my voices kind of sounding like a snide dickhead, and the other one kind of wailing away at the same time. Yeah, it's an interesting mix. And I think it's interesting also that this heaviness has an interlude that just kind of floats a bit.
This was written during the same time as the person in the first song in this series. It was about her, and my observation of what it looks like when a mind seriously begins to fracture, and disconnection becomes a thing because the person is no longer connected to any kind of baseline reality that anyone else is observing. It's very bizarre to see this happen, and to some degree, to be put in positions that are very compromising when it comes to riskiness of the body and the mind. It required that I also detach to some degree because I no longer could relate to where they were going and what they were seeing regarding reality at all. When you're dealing with schizoaffective disorder, and you had been taking your meds for at least 10 to 15 years previously, and then you randomly decide to stop, and then also start smoking weed, which in and of itself isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you also happen to have pretty substantial and severe mental illness issues if you're not staying on top of your meds, then… Things can go in directions that other people will have to separate themselves from you because of, in order to protect themselves (It was already a kind of abusive relationship on her part, and at the same time, very exploratory and free).
The difference between my approach to the experience and hers was that I was actually at a core level more open and less needing to have control and to dominate anything or determine truth, or demand reality be what I want it to be. It didn't take very much time for her to completely lose touch with reality and move on to stronger drugs. At that point, I was already no longer in the picture, but I could see the kind of places that she was going, and along with some lingering thoughts from a major ex that I had
(the one that's written about in the song “infinity… (little pieces)". This song is a strange amalgamation of a mixture of my, at this point, dysfunctional relationship with relationships, combining multiple experiences and watching a mind fracture all simultaneously. So it is metaphor, it is, in a sense, hyperbole, but it also describes actual dysfunction and how perception gets twisted and distorted. So it's a psychological, bizarro land experience.
Regardless, the kind of imagery and the kind of feeling that this song creates, the aesthetic and the intensity and insanity of these kinds of mental states, almost makes it a bit metal, and I think that this is badass.
[The artwork is a bit of a collaboration with my custom GPT, The Chaos System. Basically, had a discussion with it about the lyrics and what the song was about. It's interesting. After a bit of back and forth, which is generally how I have my communications with the AI partner that I've been developing for the past year and a half, through multiple rounds of feedback, we refine an idea until it seems that we're gelling on the concept, and that is what happened here. Also here's a variant of this that I just created and put out, which is in the 'Experimental | Misc' album as well, which I've never released before. I updated and added things to it as of the publishing of this website in July 2026 (This on here was made in the aughts). I think of this one as the primary song, and I think it's more complete as a song. The other one is more of a remix and a variant, but it also has an image that has been worked through between me and The Chaos System, for full disclosure.]

she's the demoness in the red dress
she's the one who knows how to bless
the dark desires in her mind
the one's who fall out of time
alone in pain, dreams of my despair
tied with no quarter, to this tainted chair
i see her means
the stitching in ripped seams
ideals drowning in a sea of desire
she makes out of reality the seer into a liar
without her torture i see with blinded eyes
within her notions the meat draws all the flies
i am the symbiot, the needle pulls away
she draws the blood that makes me want to stay
This one's heavy. This is really the first attempt I had at a full composition with my voice in it. There aren't that many lyrics. They're repeated a few times. And what they're talking about is pretty intensely emotional.
I was at a place in my life, I had been with this person for six and a half years. Things went really sideways at one point when the boss that I had at the company that I was working at died of a drug overdose. It was my 20s. This was the first major job that I had where I thought that it was more like a career than simply employment. I learned a lot about how I work with processes. I took risks even in getting the job because I was asked if I could do a whole bunch of things that I had yet to really learn. And instead of saying, well, I don't know how to do that stuff yet, I just said, yeah. Because I had started to realize that I could learn to do whatever I wanted to on the Mac. And so I made that my life. And I created websites, I created graphics, I managed Access databases, all this stuff, all for a guy that was a bit intense and interesting.
Years later, after I had actually moved away from the job and back, after I had gone through some of my own struggles, things got weird. At one point I heard, I think it was through email, I don't remember, that he had overdosed. It completely crushed my reality. I was banking my future on what I was going to accomplish with this person. And so I was kind of destroyed. The person I was with, who is the person in the artwork that you're seeing here, all of a sudden was dealing with a person who was, in effect, completely emotionally unavailable. Because I was dead. I did not know how to process reality. It got so bad that she called her family up and had them pick her up. She never fully moved back in again, and I lived in the two rooms that I spent six years with her in at my dad's place with all of her belongings that she left there as though she were still present otherwise. In the interim two or three years, I went insane. Did a lot of strange substances, kind of abused myself, tried to escape, and also learned tons of things about technology and destroyed myself emotionally with self-hate and all kinds of crazy stuff. This song was me trying to, like I did with that previous one, you know, create magic, reach out and say, hey, you know, I'm here, I'm still here. She was impressed when she heard it for the first time. It was in my friend's car on a Halloween visit when we went up to LA from San Diego. But she wasn't ready for anything yet. And I got so bad that my dad basically said that I had to move out.
So I moved to Arizona. Moved in with my mom, her gallery, her collective living space, basically. And that's actually where I met the person in the first song that is referenced a few times. In the process of having my experiment with that person, this one died. She had some kind of an aneurysm after having not had cocaine for quite some time and doing too much. Not fun to learn about. We had just had an amazing discussion like a week previously, and signs were looking very good for a reconnection.
Anyway, the place that I was in when I wrote this was extremely dark in a very bizarre way, but it was me really trying to express myself creatively in a way that I never had and show myself in a way that was really intense and vulnerable. I think that this came out interestingly, and it was well received by others who heard it. The song is made with a program called Rebirth, which was a step sequencer synthesizer emulator I had on the Mac. Ultimately it was composed with vocals and some other sounds and arrangements in Sony Vegas Video because it allowed you to mix sound. Whatever, it worked. And this is what I did. It's eight minutes long exactly. Eight's my favorite number. There's a bunch of symbolism here.
I still think it's a very good song. But it's very... it's a strange one to hear. It can't help but remind me of a very lost and dark place that I was once.

This is an interesting collection, a mix of a lot of different headspaces and disparate times within a 10-year period probably. A mix of experimental and very bass-heavy stuff. Definitely a bit of an evolution in trying things out.

These first two of these are experimental sound before I even knew what experimental sound was, on my old Power Mac 7100/80 AV, early internet, finding samples online. Had a program called SoundEdit 16, and messed about, came up with weird shit.
That's the kind of weird stuff I do.

As you may have already seen in the video section of the website, at the bottom of the page, one of the projects that I was involved with in the aughts while living at The Firehouse art collective, gallery and performance venue, was a series called "Doc Sterno | Wise Advice". The person who wrote it was a local artist and poet who also ran a gallery at one point, named Pete Petrisko. At this point, he was living at The Firehouse as well, and he's the one who got me into The Firehouse.
He had previously met me and the person mentioned above in the songs “Misaligned Soulmates”, "Sinister", and “Dreams in Deviance", who I had been in a relationship with after moving to Arizona and living with my mom at the Cone, and then moved to Scottsdale to live with her. And at one point in our weird relationship, she thought it would be interesting to invite Pete over to have a three-way. That's how I met Pete. Because of the fact that I was counterculture and open to things that most people would never consider, he contacted me and asked if I wanted to move into The Firehouse, and if so come by during house meeting to be interviewed by all of. the residents. I was getting really tired of living alone by myself in an apartment. I couldn't stand it. I was stir-crazy as fuck. And it sounded exactly like the kind of thing I could do, or could used to do. It ended up being some of the best years of my life.
So at one point during Doc Sterno, we were on, let's see, episode six. It was called "Fear Itself". The premise is that somebody writes in and Doc Sterno reads this to the audience. It's about somebody having to deal with something they fear. He mentions that the only thing that he's really had a problem with fearing are Chihuahuas and mimes. Doc Sterno also says “The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself. Some crippled-up U.S. president once said that" Which is obviously a quote from Franklin D. Roosevelt. He then said the thing you have to do is face your fear, and he goes on for a minute. He then mentions that he has a video he would like to show the audience to really explain what it is that he did to face his fear of chihuahuas. At the end of the video, he has one of these Chihuahuas licking his face and comes back into the normal space we film in and says, "Fear over!”. There was a lot more to this episode, but these are the relevant parts for the creative project that I was tasked with next.
He needed a song for this episode. I came up with this, called "Don't Fear the Chihuahua". I made it in GarageBand before I had Logic or any more advanced audio production software. It was rad to make. What you're hearing here is something that's had a bit more effort put into mastering the mix that you will hear in the video, but overall, it's more or less the same as it was. I think it's an awesome song. I sing in it, and I composed the whole thing. I used Apple loops to build out the tracks, I did the perfect scream in it, and it's an awesome and totally absurd song. The album cover was designed with the help of my personal custom GPT called The Chaos System. And I think that it nails the aesthetic. If you watch the video, all of the graphics there are in this exact same kind of style. So in a sense, I defined the aesthetic, and AI just composed the whole thing. Yeah, I probably could have designed it myself, but sometimes I don't really care. And in this case, it did an amazing job.
If this makes you interested in checking out what 'Doc Sterno | Wise Advice' was about, after you listen to the song and read the amazing lyrics, you can click here and go back to the video page to watch the video. If you click through to YouTube, there are chapter markers so you can skip directly to this episode (Fear Itself). And just a note, anchor links do work properly. The problem is that if there's a lot of content on a page, you might have to scroll to the bottom a few times before it gets you exactly there. It's just what happens with things like lazy loading. So, just know the content is all the way at the bottom of this page.

This collection is all songs I generated while working on putting together a number of the video for the Video section on this website, so quite recent actually. A lot of it went into my Gallery of Works video. Some of it went into a couple of the hour-long videos. But it's all so that I made sure not to put any videos on YouTube without audio. Which made for an interesting experiment on a number of them. These are not hour-long. They're shortened down versions. And I think I came up with some pretty good stuff. You'd be surprised.
I'd say my favorite out of all of these might be the last one. It's hard to go through these and say what about them. They're too new. But they're all created in Logic Pro. And I started using a different technique when I created all of these. Things I've never done before in Logic, which is interesting. Looking through the loop library to find samples and things to put in. And then doing a lot more chopping up of things, jumping through different styles, breaking beats. And it's a different feeling that I really like.
For the most part, this is all relatively mellow. Some is kind of heavy trip-hoppy. Some glitch in there, electronic, strings, lots of beats, very deep bass. It's a good collection of songs. They could be developed more, they could have lyrics. But this is where they're at. Wouldn't be a bad playlist to just put on in the background and chill to.

During the 2010s and up to just a bit before the pandemic hit, an interesting opportunity came up for me. The friend Joe that I had mentioned, who's related to Pan Productions, which I now call Pan's Chaos, linked me to a Facebook page for a company called BASSBOSS. I was looking through their website, and outside of getting kind of a feeling that there was something different about the technology itself and the quality of the equipment they were putting up on offer, what really attracted me to them was a philosophy that I'd never seen anywhere else in the audio industry, either hi-fi or pro audio.
I don't remember the exact details, but I remember at some point I somewhat casually mentioned to my dad how awesome these speakers were seeming to be. He was aware of the fact that I had been running sound production for The Firehouse Gallery and performance space for many years, and that I had a community of people available to me. And so, because of an example he had seen from another peer of his, where their family had helped thier son start a new business, he decided that it might make sense to throw me what you might call an early chunk of inheritance.
I didn't know exactly what this would look like initially, but since I was then in a position to contact the company as an actual potential customer, I began a relationship with them regarding getting a fully built-out system from them. It just so happened that this was exactly at a point where the designer, David Lee from BASSBOSS, was putting together a new subwoofer with the capacity to go as low as their flagship double 18 sub could go with a single 18. Since he understood how much it is that I have always loved low bass, because as I explained to him, I had been years in the past a big fan of creating my own subwoofers, he suggested that I wait for him to finish development on this new one. It was called the 'ZV18'.
Along with this, as a part of who I am and how I like to have something about what it is I'm trying to represent also connected to something like a company's products, and because I had seen that they offered custom faceplates on their ‘DiaMon' tops, which were squares turned sideways. I inquired about putting together my own faceplate. That's when I developed what is in effect the very first completely original version of a Chaos symbol that I came up with. The constraints, of course, were that it had to work with a sound system and be able to allow the sound from the drivers to pass through it. There was very little actual development time regarding the tops, as David Lee felt that what I had come up with was actually entirely adequate as far as he could tell, and he would be able to tune the system to work with that without any issue.
So over a couple of months' time, that was all put together along with the development of another faceplate for all of the subs as well. This began what I ended up calling the very first incarnation of 'The Chaos System', both the symbol/logo and the name, as a concept and system going forward. You've already seen a number of different incarnations of what that Chaos System logo turned into in the design section of this site, and have seen it reflected throughout all of the videos as well.
The reality is that on my own, I have a lot of understanding of many different skills, not so much a lot of understanding of business management. I have been through a couple of years of business school through community college in Phoenix, but this is not the kind of thing that would fully prepare me for real-world management. Along with that, partnering with Joe, while a great thing as a friend, didn't entirely work out in a business sense. Humans are a messy business, and him eventually including a third party, i.e. somebody else in the community who eventually became his girlfriend, really didn't Pan out well for how it could have ended up as a business. Some attempts were made.
I also don't want to mention, as a realistic thing I had to think about, that I've not always had the fondest conceptual relationship with the idea of money. My conceptions of it through time have matured since this time, but let's just say I very often found everything about how money and the monetary system existed, as far as I had understood it to, to be almost without any exception, something very oppressive and often infuriating when it comes to doing anything of actual benefit for all of the people around me, outside of compelling them to sell their labor for questionable return in jobs they didn't necessarily like, including my own experience working for at least quite a few companies throughout my life, although not all of them.
This led me to want to approach the use of this system in an entirely different way than I realized anybody else would be coming from, which was that I wanted it to be community first and a way to benefit as many people as possible. So I wrote up an entire post (in the form of a Note) on Facebook describing what it was that I had intended for this system to be used for. It was originally something I had written to my dad to fully illustrate my motivations for how I would end up using this sound system.
~
What follows is an unedited copy of the text from that note, plus some necessary context first for how I thought at the time:
This should give you an idea of what I'm describing regarding the kind of relationship I had to the ideas of money, and how I wanted to approach what I was doing with how I wanted to use all of this equipment. What I would say at this point is that my relationship with concepts like capitalism have radically shifted, not in the sense that I excuse it for all of the negative expressions that it is capable of and responsible for, but that I attribute those negatives more towards misunderstandings, mismanagement, and the fact that I've learned a huge amount more about monetary theory and everything else related in my journey through deep diving into things like Bitcoin, which led to Ludwig von Mises, and the Austrian School of Economics.
While it's easy to look at the following content as something that one might tend to want to easily associate with leftist thinking, this really doesn't describe how it is that I operate as a thinker. I'm simply searching for something that creates the most opportunity for the most people. And because of the development of my understanding of systems theory and really understanding the importance of the difference between bottom-up and top-down systems of governance, at the point in my life that I was at, this is the kind of approach I took towards explaining what it was I was trying to get across to everybody in an arts community (and obviously initially to my dad), what I wanted to do with all of this extremely high-quality and powerful equipment that would otherwise never be something anyone in this class level would ever have access to.
When it comes to my conceptions of capitalism now, it has matured even further from there, and I feel even less of an alignment to what the left is and has become. I'm not saying this in order to be political. I'm neither left nor right, so in that sense, that's irrelevant. This is meant to give context for where I was in my life and how things developed and changed, and to point out that I've never found alignment politically in a way that I've ended up attaching myself and my identity to any political affiliation. I just wanted to create and use and enable a system that could benefit as many as possible in the most interesting way that I could. You will see in the following pages on this site many more things that will align with this idea and develop themselves out in more ways, showing more about how my relationship with ideas like capitalism and money have shifted, and find much deeper understandings related to how I think, consider, and process almost everything through a systems lens.
What you'll actually find here, I think, is something far more rich and complex than would normally be attributed to someone who has a narrow ideological bent to them. And some of the ideas expressed in this document, you'll also find reflected in the final main section of this page, a more fully developed and illustrating what it was I was trying to get across in a way that I think is far more useful and cohesive ultimately than my understanding was able to put forward in how I described it here. At least a part of it. I ultimately figured out a way to fully express what it really was that I wanted to do with this idea through a document you're going to encounter on the AI page, which will be the second PDF after the same one you're seeing below this original attempt to publicly express my ideas about these things. What I did not really realize at the time was, although many of the things that I had learned while living in an arts community and as a part of a collective living experience, were in fact not the kind of ideas that most people fully could understand and do anything with, or are actually antithetical to a lot of the principles that we now see being expressed on certain sides in the political sphere, and simply unexplored on the other side.
This is all related to a lifelong study of human behavior and social systems, along with systems in general involving physics, technology, and every other avenue you could think to connect them through. As you continue through this site, this idea will continue to build itself and make itself more present as to how it matured, developed, and leads to my current understanding of everything related to these kinds of ideas. This is a running theme in my life as I continually develop, extrapolate, refine, and now with the use of AI, attempt to share and express in a fully articulated way through a medium that can be published and shared. It'll make more and more sense as you continue on your journey through this site.
Building the vision. Community wanted. The Chaos System
[This is a response i wrote to my dad about what The Chaos System is for]
To be honest, i don’t have any capitalistic interests with The Chaos System. The idea behind getting a more permanent home for the system is more about giving access to high quality sound related things to the rest of the people who would otherwise never be able to afford anything like it. I’d like to create a community space where a lot of small economies could be built and where people can come to have an alternative to a world which seeks to sell you your value instead of fostering environments where value is created through connections with others in social and creative ways. The goal would be to have people with money who want to invest in a space where they can come to be involved in developing all kinds of human creative endeavors, and people on the bottom rungs, middle rungs, and top, can have all of the kinds of things they love to do available for others to purchase or learn to make themselves in a fully inclusive way.
Imagine a place where there are workshops for all kinds of creative ideas... Where resources are shared between a bunch of people instead of isolated in some rich persons studio and only used by them, or cost so much that it can’t be justified. A place with jewelry classes, metallurgy, a kiln and all things ceramics, sewing, art classes, electronics, wood working, screen printing, graphic design, video editing and live video mixing, web design and development, fabrication, fire performance, belly dancing, poi, martial arts, food preparation with a commercial kitchen, food growing with traditional and advanced small format farming, small business development (in context), full performance venue for many kinds of expression… Really as much as a community of people can think of to teach, share, and express.
My part would start with having my equipment available for the kinds of live music and other performances that give people a place to escape. But also eventually teaching how to run live sound and understand audio equipment. After i manage to figure out how to save up for the full live setup i’m building toward, i’ll then save up for a full tracking and mixing studio so people can get their songs and albums made to a standard that would otherwise be out of their reach to afford. While of course we want to be able to fund all of this with cash, capital comes in many forms, one of the biggest being through the volunteerism that makes this kind of thing possible. Then finally i want to build a mastering studio along with the mixing and tracking studio, so that skillset and any profits from that service are not ending up in the pockets of people who only want to profit from it without adding other kinds of value, and the product is at the highest of standards available.
The idea is to create a lot of avenues for making actual money, as our greater system of living requires it. But the real value proposition comes from having a real community to connect with, not just some word that means the people you live near but only talk to when a storm blows a bunch of people’s roofs off. Generally in this society that comes through places like churches primarily, but i’d prefer to avoid dogma, ideology, and superstitious crap, especially when the consideration of making some profit comes into the equation. People will believe whatever they will, but i don’t want that belief becoming any part in the DNA of the vision.
All of the ground floor stuff could probably be put together in short order, and be allowed to emergently grow. We have enough people interested, i’d wager. The issue is how to fund the basics and get people into understanding the real value proposition so they want to spend enough through something like my Patreon to float everything while the rest is built. It would probably require a non-profit legal structure as a part of side stepping anything becoming managed in a top down and capitalist way. I’m not looking to create a vision based on profit that only benefits a few people, and leaves the rest at the whim of that kind of top down thinking that creates the alienation they are already looking to get away from. The point is to have a space where that doesn’t exist, and interdependent connection creates a value proposition that cannot be bought, sold, or taxed. Basically a rejection of the current paradigm, but in a way that still creates income streams so people aren’t losing capital in the process of building the space.
Basically there are already a bunch of people who really want something like this. But getting higher level funding to float it till it becomes self sustaining is the trick to be figured out. What i do know is that i am not the person to organize and “manage” such a thing while it is starting (or at all really). But i do bring a large skillset to the table to make it doable. Whatever power i do want would have mostly to do with keeping others from building up their power to the point of having too singular an influence and the structure reverting to something that doesn’t foster a collective energy where a real bottom up democracy of ideas and energy are cultivated. People are so inured by the greater society and the structures it tries to say are “the way” things should work, that it will be necessary to keep a check on that to keep it from happening.
My purpose at the moment is to keep upping my game with audio stuff while doing web development, design, and some management for BASSBOSS to help it grow enough to help me keep funding building my resources so i can keep adding them to the portfolio of equipment to add to the vision. Also hopefully to get the attention of someone who gets it and has a bit of capital they can spend to help build up The Chaos System so we can have a serious place that contends with the best on offer anywhere. My Patreon is an experiment in how this will eventually be presented. How i have it is very rough, but will build a framework for a better presentation to get people investing. I’d definitely want someone to rewrite everything so it reaches a greater audience and doesn’t carry my energy and bias’ with it.
Basically it comes down to the realities of a world that is collapsing, sells alienation as gold, and profits off of sickness; while bankrupting people through an educational system that gave up a long time on actually trying to help advance conscious development, and is now focused on teaching the skills of conformity to a system that imprisons people who participate. I want to foster the kind of interdependent connection that gives people a place to feel like there can be real purpose, and where real skills can be learned, taught and developed, in ways that just aren't available anywhere else that works according to the established capitalist narrative, and, depending on how fast we get financial and environmental collapse, offers a real community that can be depended on when the statist structure loses it’s power to support and “protect” the people it has made slaves to it. So that when all of the infrastructure fails, there is already a bunch of connection there that people can rely on to build their own thing without any need to depend on broken systems of power currently in place.
Also, i’m not the only one trying to do this in this way. But finding others in different places who are is a bit difficult. And building the structures that make it fully real and self sustaining takes a kind of understanding that isn’t easy to get a lot of people to see. We have one such development already being built in Miami Arizona, by the same people that facilitated The Firehouse along with other previous incarnations. There is a deep need in people for these kinds of connected structures, but often people have a hard time understanding the value until they actively build within it. Then it’s plainly obvious what the value proposition is. This is why i mention that all the actors needed for the bottom levels are essentially already there, also wanting a space to build in. And to clarify, by “space”, i don’t mean that it requires one location for all, or that a location is what is required to hold on to to make it real. At least not in a permanent way. If all the pieces are in place, it can always move. In a place like Phoenix, locking in an actual property and holding on to it in a way that doesn’t just gentrify the area is almost impossible, so we’d want a strategy to keep this from happening, deliberately. In a place like Miami, gentrification through emergent culture building is actually a good idea (as long as attempts to dissuade codification of culture are made), where they need revitalization. So how the vision works and where and why, changes based on context and need.
So in conclusion… The point in what i do with the resources i have and the way i save to build is in all ways meant to create the ways in which i can help this idea. I don’t want to sell my resources to the ones who can offer me the most capital, excluding the ones who are always using the crappiest, cheapest, hand me dow, falling apart, mediocre equipment available. I want this to all be a part of building something that enables as many people as possible (probably with the limit around Dunbar’s number) to have the best resources and access while building interdependence, and find others with more monetary capital who want to help fund that by understanding the whole value proposition it offers. I need others to help me get that vision across and pull in those kinds of people. Not to simply sell them an investment that will build their money portfolio alone, but to build an organic (non codified) sub culture that gives them the kinds of interactions and creative opportunities that make life truly fulfilling.
The current societies we live in do not have this to offer. But we can build it.
When it came to my attempts to try to monetize the use of The Chaos System, there was some income for sure, and we were able to charge a considerable amount, especially considering how powerful this sound system actually is and how capable these subs are of producing unreasonably good amounts of extremely low bass in a way that I have simply never seen reflected in any other product I've experienced in pro audio. But ultimately, the business idea itself dissolved because of misaligned incentives and ideas about what this was all going to be used for. However, as mentioned in the note that I had published on Facebook, I had also been establishing a deeper relationship and connection to BASSBOSS itself.
Because of the back and forth that I had with the designer David Lee, and the CEO, Lian Amber, at BASSBOSS, the fact that I had designed the cover plates for all of the speakers, and the communication I had with the designer, I think between the two of them they realized that it might not be the worst idea to bring me on as someone who could help out with what was definitely a more or less still kind of fledgling company trying to establish itself in the pro audio world. So although what my dad initially tried to enable for me to accomplish was, you know, creating some kind of a business, what it in fact did instead was it landed me a long term 'job' that I maintained for about 10 years.

The PDF you see next is me putting together a spec sheet for The Chaos System. At this point, I was not yet working for BASSBOSS, but I had pulled enough extra detail out of David Lee that I felt like I could fully extrapolate even more than the specs that they had on their website. I had also already had a number of experiences using the sound system, which gave me a real-world lived experience that allowed me to fully express what is described. So this is my explanation and narrative description of what it was that I thought really described the value that this sound system had and has. This is a sound system I still own and have full access to. Although how that relates to any use from someone coming here for any interest in some kind of business relationship or hiring really depends on the nature of the relationship. What it does, though, do outside of having this as a resource, is illustrate even more about how I approach what it is that I'm interested in representing and the way I think of things through a systems lens.
What I do have to say before you read these specs is this: It is quite literally impossible to fully encapsulate in words what it's like to experience a system like this. It's very easy to look through something like this, see the images, and just think it looks like a stylized version of something you would see at a bigger venue or a concert, and write it off as something you may have already experienced. I'm not so sure that that's true. Through every concert experience that I've been through all the way up to stadium levels, this is something very different. What David Lee was able to achieve with his design is frankly phenomenal and one of the most overwhelmingly amazing and wonderful experiences you can experience in your life. Of course, assuming that you like what really deep, really heavy, and really clean bass, along with extremely high-fidelity sound through the rest of the frequency band, are as a possibility. There really is nothing like it that I've found before or since.
One of the things I brought with me to BASSBOSS and developed further, after I'd been there for a bit and understood the company much more, was the same understanding of human social systems and ideas of community. One of the things that I had found in developing my relationship with BASSBOSS as a company was the way that they treated their customers was beyond top-notch, along with the fact that they labeled their customers as family, which to me says a lot about how they were looking to approach the notion of what a customer is in relation to their business.
One of the most important strategies that ended up developing as we were moving forward was the translation of a lot of understanding that David Lee had of these different systems (subs and tops) into something that the public, customers, family, i.e. community, were going to be able to understand. I'd gone through a number of discussions with the CEO, Lian about this, and ended up landing on YouTube as being the best vehicle for what could be accomplished. As you've already seen on the video page, I ended up developing a pretty effective strategy for using Keynote as a motion graphics engine for creating graphic overlays on videos, which had David Lee presenting information about the different systems, and my informational translation of his presentation into something visually understandable.
However, and something important to the context I’m establishing throughout this website that led to the YouTube channel and videos you’ve already experienced, was a document that I developed and submitted to the entire team at BASSBOSS describing what I thought it was that they might consider in relation to the strategy they were going to use regarding YouTube and many other things in order to create a stronger connection with their customers.
The PDF that you see here is this understanding that I had at the time,. You may notice it has some relationship to the previous text from the Facebook note that I had published, except for now developed and translated into a completely different context and related to what it looks like when you're doing it inside of an actual company. I think this should do the job that it needs to do to illustrate my understanding of what these ideas meant and my ability to translate those concepts into a completely different domain and construction.
As I have mentioned previously, I believe that I was responsible for helping them get to a place where they were able to add all of their products to a number of the largest product websites available on the internet, i.e., Guitar Center, Musician's Friend, Sweetwater, through my understanding and skills with Keynote presentations and the skills I've been developing there while working at BASSBOSS. The strategy I proposed being implemented in the way that was understood best for the company, is the place where things began to make the most sense on the path we took to build our connection with all of our customers in a different way. You should be able to see the connection between this document and the Facebook post that I originally wrote to my dad. And as will follow, this way of thinking is going to continue developing itself into the next PDF and more content throughout the rest of the site.
As far as I'm concerned, my so-called 'job' with BASSBOSS is something that I consider a unicorn job. It, bar none, outside of maybe only one other position I had when I was very young, was the best job I've ever had in my life. And if it weren't for extremely aggressive legal action taken against the person I was living with by her ex-husband during my employment, I would likely still be working for them. There will be more context for what exactly happened there in a different place on your journey through this website.

I don't consider my experience with this sound system to be something that is inconsequential in any way. It has affected my life in many important ways, opened up a number of opportunities, and given me the incentive and confidence to continue to explore many of the things that I have throughout the rest of my life.
It's another way to capture a collection of memories and to reflect on how it is that I've been able to continue to develop my understanding of how systems work and how I want to work with systems, along with the expression of even more advanced ideas that you will find as you progress through the rest of this website and what it has to offer.

The following gallery contains photos of The Chaos System itself, and does not include photos that were taken at any shows that it was a part of, except for if the system was in complete isolation.
You will have already experienced two other galleries, which will have all kinds of show photos in them, showing the system in use with people at events and all that jazz. This one is to show more of what these speakers look like, including some of the initial photos that were shot with me and my friend Phil in the driveway of the house I was living in at the time.
As so many of these different photos are simply variations, angles, different sides, etc., I don't think it really makes sense to add captions for them. If you want to identify who I am, and haven't been able to figure that out through any of the other images on the site yet. Look for the guy wearing the Chaos symbol on his shirt. It's the same symbol that is on the speakers 😉.
I've developed an entirely new concept for how to do live audio using Mark of the Unicorn, AVB networking for audio over IP, controlling multiple channels of audio and affecting all of it through multiple iPad Pros for use for live streaming and live production as an alternate way of approaching digital audio mixing. I found the standard digital console paradigm to be severely lacking when I attempted to switch over to a digital board.
It wasn't a matter of there being any issue with understanding how it could work. It was a feeling of extreme limitation, especially when you're coming from analog audio, where although your granular control level might not be as good, your ability to adjust many different parameters simultaneously is always available.
I believe with this paradigm, this is something that will be entirely possible, all using a touch-based interface in programs like AUM on the iPad Pro, along with other AUv3 plugins. This is all illustrated in the following PDF.
From the PDF:
"The Chaos System is a radical reimagining of live audio-visual production and creative collaboration. At its core, it challenges the rigidity of traditional mixing desks, closed systems, and hardware-centric workflows, replacing them with a fluid, touch-based, network-driven ecosystem that empowers artists and engineers alike. Built on iPadOS, AUv3 plugins, and MOTU's AVB interfaces, The Chaos System unlocks a universe of possibility, redefining what it means to create, perform, and experience sound and vision."
This PDF also includes a number of other ideas and themes, among which are:
How to build an initial venue / creative space, where there would be residency, many different types of skills being taught of all creative types (including having fully resourced workshops for the various disciplines), a fully built out performance venue (also connected to related creative workshops), and in a way to act as a model for how to design more of a bottom-up structure for creative thinking processes and community development.
The technical details and conception of an iPad app that is designed to combine a number of technologies which appear in more primitive forms to already exist on the iPad, which would allow for a convergence of audio technology and video output for live production viewing, which would give the kind of effect that you might see from all of the videos you would have looked at in the video page in the Operation Noise Toaster gallery, except live and not just as a post-production result. I have fully thought out to as much of this idea to the degree that I am capable of with my particular skill set (At least as far as I remember. It's been a while since I've looked at it closely.). I would really like to continue to develop this into a real product (App), but it would require a considerable amount of funding when it comes to app development. That said, I think that this app and the ecosystem that would be created as a part of fully developing it out has a profit potential that is sky high when it comes to the entertainment industry. Not only that, but it would be something accessible to people on all levels of creative expression, regardless or their individual access to funding. Meaning that I'd like to develop the technology as a scalable feature set, which would work anywhere from displaying the result on a single monitor all the way up to an entire arena concert, using multiple iPads, networking, and probably some of the same (or similar) technologies that would be used in the audio paradigm also described in the PDF.
Also an entire strategy for how the original concept for this new audio paradigm, mentioned at the beginning of this section, would convert itself into a full YouTube promotional strategy for marketing the ideas themselves, marketing the iPad as one of the most powerful tools that exist for audio production, through educting people on the various technologies involved in its use. This being to a degree whereby I think it could in and of itself build out an entire YouTube channel, even though I have many more ideas that I would want to talk about on such a channel. The exact same concept here would probably work and be as effective when thinking about the iPad app that I want to develop as well, which would add to the level of how lucrative this kind of an idea could potentially be if they were thought of as complementary and integrated and not simply distinct ideas, although either one could be used completely separately.

In effect, this PDF is a comprehensive look at the kinds of things that I've pulled together as ideas regarding all kinds of live production, community building, running a venue, and the teaching of many different skills that have total and complete relevance for real-world application. Those being in addition to the two different specific technological additions that I think I've figured out that would change the very nature of what live audio production looks like, one specifically for audio and the other for video.
I think you'll find that the ideas I'm attempting to illustrate here are entirely viable. The technology is in a place where this is actually doable. And the only piece that I'm missing is financial resources to make it happen. What this should be illustrating then, ideally, is not only am I a user of technology and a creator, but I'm very much into finding new ways to develop creative expression. When I think of how these different systems can be reconfigured, redesigned, and re-understood, I like to figure out what it would look like to actually make those things real.
AI in particular has been extremely helpful in making a lot of the connections and getting all of these crazy technical ideas out of my head and helping me put them into human-readable form, test viability, and make sure everything in them is something possible with existing technology. And I think what I figured out here absolutely meets that criteria. You can read more about how I collaborate with AI to develop the ideas that I have in my head into something practical and realistic when you move on to the AI page.
